A governor’s office press release said June net tax revenue totaled nearly $2.95 billion, while year-to-date collections through June 30 were up 0.4% from the prior fiscal year.

The Office of the Governor of Georgia said the state’s June net tax revenue collections totaled nearly $2.95 billion, down $215.1 million, or 6.8%, from the same month in Fiscal Year 2025.

According to the press release, year-to-date net tax revenue collections through June 30 totaled $33.75 billion, an increase of $129.5 million, or 0.4%, over the prior fiscal year’s final total.

The release said monthly comparisons were affected by a motor fuel excise tax suspension that began March 20, 2026, and remained in effect until June 3. Net of motor fuel tax changes, June revenues were down 0.6% from a year earlier, while year-to-date collections were up nearly 1.6% over FY 2025.

Among major categories cited in the release, individual income tax collections totaled $1.39 billion, down $99.8 million, or 6.7%, from last year.

The press release said gross sales and use tax collections approached $1.72 billion in June, up $126.6 million, or 8%, from June FY 2025. Net sales and use tax increased by $52.9 million, or 6.8%, and the adjusted sales tax distribution to local governments totaled $872.3 million.

Corporate income tax collections totaled $518.7 million in June, an increase of $34 million, or 7%, from the prior year, according to the release.

The release also reported a $196.9 million, or 98.5%, decrease in motor fuel tax collections compared with FY 2025. Motor vehicle tag and title fees fell by $2.3 million, or 7.6%, and Title Ad Valorem Tax collections declined by $5.4 million, or 7%, from June 2025.
