Editorial Standards

• Verify consequential claims before publication and identify the source of attributed information.
• Treat a public record as a source, not automatic proof that every statement in it is accurate.
• Separate what Georgia Raw verified from what a source claims, what is alleged, and what remains unknown.
• Link to authentic primary sources when legally and technically appropriate.
• Never invent or infer unsupported quotes, people, charges, dates, outcomes, injuries, addresses, case numbers, or amounts.
• Show accurate publication and update times and label developing coverage clearly.

An arrest is not a conviction. Georgia Raw does not state or imply guilt without a conviction, and it distinguishes an allegation, charge, arrest, indictment, plea, verdict, conviction, sentence, dismissal, acquittal, and appeal.

We use “according to,” “alleged,” and equivalent language where appropriate, identify who made a claim, include meaningful responses when available, and avoid adopting agency language as our own conclusion. Later dispositions and exonerating information should be connected promptly to earlier coverage.

There is no automatic publication of arrests, mugshots, criminal accusations, court cases, deaths, serious injuries, minors, missing persons, domestic violence, sexual offenses, medical information, private addresses, unverified social-media claims, or graphic imagery.

High-risk reporting requires an authorized human to review the evidence, sourcing, attribution, privacy need, allegation language, media rights, headline, and social treatment. The decision, rationale, reviewed revision, and approval time must be recorded. Critical material—including doxxing and graphic death imagery—is blocked from automatic publication and escalated.

Availability is not the same as necessity. We minimize personal details, avoid humiliating language, and consider whether a name, address, photograph, or medical detail adds genuine public value or creates avoidable harm.

Minors are not identified without a documented editorial decision and appropriate legal and safety review. Media must have clear provenance, rights information, credit, caption, descriptive alternative text, and sensitivity review. Georgia Raw does not automatically download or republish copyrighted photographs.

Automated systems may help organize source material, compare records, extract structured facts, classify risk, or prepare a draft. They are not reporters, sources, witnesses, editors, or publication authorities.

Source material is treated as untrusted data. Model output must preserve provenance and pass strict validation; uncertainty or validation failure routes to review, never publication. A model or moderation score cannot establish truth, guilt, authenticity, or newsworthiness.

Material errors are corrected promptly and prominently. Georgia Raw preserves earlier revisions and adds a timestamped note explaining what changed; we do not silently rewrite history.
