The ceremony at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth recognized six new officers after 19 weeks of training, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety.
The Georgia Department of Public Safety said its Commercial Vehicle Enforcement division celebrated the graduation of its 15th Commercial Vehicle Officer School on Friday, June 5, 2026.
According to the agency, the ceremony was held at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth and marked the end of 19 weeks of training for six new officers.
DPS said remarks during the ceremony involved Colonel William Hitchens III, Captain Mark Riley, Lieutenant J.D. Roberson, Lt. Colonel Kendrick Lowe and Georgia Rep. Clint Crowe of the 118th District.
The agency said Officer Kharlos Badillo served as class president. DPS also listed Officer Matthew Sims as vice president, Officer Jerome Clunis as chaplain and pennant bearer, and Officer Terrance Taylor as sergeant-at-arms.
According to DPS, Badillo received Firearms Proficiency and Top Gun honors. Sims received Driving Proficiency and the highest academic average, 94.29, and also received a $500 scholarship from Reinhardt University.
DPS said the new officers will begin assignments throughout Georgia.
