The state health department said CDC notified it about the transport and said there is no risk to the public at this time.
The Georgia Department of Public Health said it was notified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that two individuals are being transported to Emory University’s Serious Communicable Diseases Unit.
According to the state health department, federal healthcare workers are taking every precaution needed in the cases, and there is no risk to the public at this time.
DPH said it remains in active communication with the CDC and other partners as it monitors developments.
