A GBI press release says Andrae Wright, 44, of Statesboro was charged after an Effingham County Sheriff’s Office request for an investigation tied to access of the Flock Safety System.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said it arrested and charged Andrae Wright, 44, of Statesboro with misuse of a license plate reader system, stalking, computer invasion of privacy and violation of oath of office.
According to the GBI, Wright was employed as an investigator with the Ogeechee Circuit District Attorney’s Office at the time of the offense.
The agency said the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI on July 9, 2026, to investigate allegations following an internal audit of the Flock Safety System.
The GBI said Wright was a former employee of the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and still had access to the sheriff’s office Flock Safety System account.
Preliminary information indicates Wright accessed the Flock Safety System more than 60 times between June 15, 2026, and July 5, 2026, for non-law enforcement purposes, according to the GBI.
The GBI said Wright was booked into the Bulloch County Jail on July 27, 2026. The agency also said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
