Seven charged after joint drug operation in Sandersville, GBI says

Seven people were arrested and charged following a multi-agency operation in Sandersville, Washington County, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI said the operation was led by the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force, the GBI Middle Georgia Gang Task Force and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and that the arrests stemmed from multiple drug investigations.

According to the GBI, those charged were Lenard Brown, 78, of Tennille; Michael Cummings, 46, of Sandersville; Quentavious Peacock, 34, of Sandersville; Jamel Ritter, 34, of Sandersville; Dan Sanders, 66, of Sandersville; Antonio Swint, 45, of Tennille; and Uolande Wright, 49, of Tennille.

The GBI said Brown was charged with three counts of sale of cocaine and possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute; Cummings with two counts of sale of cocaine, probation violation and obstructing law enforcement officers; Peacock with two counts of sale of cocaine and probation violation; Ritter with sale of cocaine; Sanders with sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug related objects and probation violation; Swint with sale of cocaine; and Wright with possession of cocaine.

All seven arrestees were booked into the Washington County Jail, the GBI said.

The agency said the investigation is active and ongoing.
