The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the several-month investigation in Putnam County began in February 2026 and remains active.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said 12 people were arrested and charged following a several-month drug investigation targeting illegal drug sales in Eatonton, Putnam County.

According to the GBI, the investigation began in February 2026 and was led by the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force, GBI Middle Georgia Gang Task Force and Eatonton Police Department.

The agency said the arrests occurred July 21, 2026, and all arrestees were booked into the Putnam County Jail.

The GBI said the investigation is active and ongoing. It said the case file will be given to the Ocmulgee District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution once the investigation is complete.
