GBI investigating Commerce officer-involved shooting after injured man dies

The GBI said Levi Long, 22, of Commerce, was the man shot in the July 16 incident and was pronounced dead at a hospital July 26. No officers were injured, according to the agency.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said it is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Commerce at the request of the Commerce Police Department.
In its release, the GBI said one man was shot in the incident and that no officers were injured.
The agency later identified the man as Levi Long, 22, of Commerce.
According to the GBI, Long was pronounced dead at a hospital on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
The GBI said Long's body will be taken to the GBI Medical Examiner's Office, where an autopsy will be conducted.
