Attorney general says DeKalb County defendant sentenced to 95 years in PDE gang case

The Office of the Georgia Attorney General said Darius Scott was sentenced July 7 after a June 25 conviction on gang and weapons-related charges tied to PDE in DeKalb County.
The Office of the Georgia Attorney General announced that Darius Scott, 35, was sentenced to 95 years in prison in DeKalb County.
According to the press release, the sentence was tied to Scott’s involvement in criminal gang activity and weapons offenses committed in furtherance of PDE, which the release identified as a local criminal street gang also known as Paradise East or Paper Drugs Extortion.
The release said a DeKalb County Superior Court judge imposed the sentence on July 7, 2026.
The Attorney General’s office previously said Scott was convicted June 25, 2026, following a two-day jury trial in DeKalb County.
The conviction list in the release includes three counts of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of unlawful possession of a machine gun.
The same release described PDE as having been formed in the Bouldercrest Road area of DeKalb County and said the group’s name comes from the Paradise East apartment complex.
